Can there be a superlative for the Castellans folk summer? Yes! And read the 2011 Summer Folk. Despite cool weather followed more than 1,600 visitors to our invitation in the largest open-air pub outside of Ireland. Our experiment to be playing at this festival for the first time 4 band worked perfectly so Wet triangle a hearty Irish folk party was on the island on Kulturufer again celebrated.
The beginning of the evening made the band "Millerntorplatz Brigade" from St. Pauli. The 5 humored Hamburg played before being filled crowd of spectators on their classical instruments Irish workers and protest songs, but also some classics of their favorite football club FC St. Pauli. In some parts they were from Guest musicians Andries van den Broek aka The Dutch bastard accompanied on the accordion.
The second entered the band "The Wakes" from Glasgow Castellans the stage. Five young, gifted musicians during their performance darboten the audience their "Glasgow Irish Folk 'n' roll." The crystal-clear voice of the singer Paul and compact sound came from the public to excellent. They sang songs about their home, their football club Celtic FC and their heroes. After the appearance of the Wakes entered our old acquaintance of "In Search of a Rose" and established the stage with their music skillfully to the already great atmosphere prevailing before the stage. The square in front of the stage was becoming visibly become scarce in the meantime, more and more people swinging their legs or at least moving in rhythm with the music before midnight "The Mahones" the audience missed the final kick folk. All in all a great festival. A sequel is on the 28th July 2012 required!
