After a great Festival 2009 we thought that the upper end of the flagpole was reached. Not at all! A super motivated team of helpers had the festival grounds once again well prepared, so that the onslaught of nearly 1,000 music-loving visitors nothing stood in the way ...
The beginning of the musical festival evening made the band Children of Lir from Cologne, the broad with a Knew to convince instruments and with the clear voice of singer Diana Fine.
The audience noticed during the performance, however, nothing of the slow rising nervousness among the organizers, because the top act of the evening - Firkin of Budapest were still not arrived, although they were expected to soundcheck for hours.
The English dance group "The Chingford Morrismen" from Hörstel twinned Waltham Abbey laid in the pauses always musical and dance a showpiece out of their home.
Only shortly before the second band of the night, "De urge Düwels" from Schleswig-Holstein came on stage relaxation was spreading to the organizers, because the Hungarian band had arrived in the meantime. The urge Düwels blew the audience away with their provocative and presented in Low German Pogues-style pieces in a neat.
The breathtaking conclusion of the evening, then made the long-awaited "Firkin" from Budapest with a skillful and ambitious show of Flogging Molly classics but also many of your own pieces!
The audience did enjoy some Guinness or Kilkenny beer the entertaining evening! Audience and the band enjoyed the great atmosphere on the shore Wet cultural triangle. Is rumored to have been scenes of fraternization between German and Hungarian bands .... (Well, about the silent chronicler probably better! Anyway, it was funny!)
